"2026 AYDA Awards International Artwork Open Call for Entries"
To encourage emerging Taiwanese designers to make their voices heard internationally, the 2026 AYDA Awards student design competition, hosted by Nippon Paint, is now open for submissions until November 21, 2026.
Instructions:
I. Competition Format:
(I) Preliminary Selection: All entries will be reviewed by a preliminary judging panel. The number of finalists will be determined by the panel based on the quality of the submissions.
(II) Final Selection: Finalists will give presentations. The final judging panel will select the top three winners (Gold, Silver, and Bronze).
II. Competition Theme
The 2026 AYDA Awards theme is "Converge: Embracing Hyperlocal".
In this era of standardization, the world seems to be becoming increasingly similar. This year, the AYDA Awards invites all young designers to embark on an adventure about "roots" and "creativity," rediscovering the most unique colors of the land.
Seeing the Soul of Design in Neighborhoods and Alleys
"Converge" not only signifies communication and convergence but also represents our emotional connection with the land, culture, and life experiences; while "Hyperlocal" focuses on the wisdom and value hidden in everyday streets, neighborhoods, and local contexts.
"Local Rebirth, Future Co-construction" is about reinterpreting local wisdom in the contemporary era, transforming it into spatial solutions for the future. We encourage in-depth exploration of the history and resources of micro-sites, allowing design to become a gentle force for cultural inheritance.
