114-2 Application for Postgraduate Degree Examination

I. According to the university's academic regulations, specifically the "Degree Examination Regulations" and "Guidelines for Applying for Degree Examinations and Graduation," eligible graduate students may apply for degree examinations.

II. Online application period: From February 23, 2026 to May 15, 2026. Departments with stricter regulations may apply. Please note the application and processing deadlines; late applications must be submitted in the following semester.

III. Deadline for examination and grade submission: Applications approved by July 31, 2026. Original copies of the overall grade sheet and committee grade sheets must be submitted to the Curriculum and Teaching Section of the Academic Affairs Office by 5 PM on July 31, 2026 for filing.

IV. Deadline for online withdrawal of degree examination application: July 31, 2026. If unable to complete the degree examination by the deadline, applicants must withdraw their application for the semester's degree examination before the deadline. Failure to withdraw or take the examination by the deadline will result in a failing grade (according to Article 61 of the university's academic regulations, the maximum retake score is 70 points, limited to one retake). V. Application procedures for degree examinations are detailed in the "Degree Examination Application Process," "Examples of Thesis Formats and Related Specifications," and forms. VI. Online application system for degree examinations: University homepage/Single Entry Service Network/Academic Affairs Information System/Master's and Doctoral Thesis/"Graduate Degree Examination Application," "Print (Cancel) the Approval Score Sheet."

VII. The "Print (Cancel) the Approval Score Sheet" interface allows graduate students to revise their thesis titles until the oral examination results are submitted. Graduate students must carefully review their titles. According to the university's academic regulations, the thesis title must conform to the degree examination score sheet. Once the results are submitted and logged, the titles of both the Chinese and English thesis cannot be changed.

VIII. Online Application for Delayed Publication of Dissertations: According to the Ministry of Education's document No. 1142201506, starting from the 2025 academic year, graduate students must submit supporting documents for the degree examination committee to review and confirm whether the documents involve confidential information, patented matters, or are legally prohibited from being provided. Graduate students should select the online application for delayed publication when applying for the degree examination, and attach the new version of the application form for delayed publication for the 2025 academic year along with supporting documents. The application must be submitted to the department/institute, reviewed and approved by the department/institute's exclusive meeting, and approved by the degree examination committee before the dissertation can be delayed. Graduate students of this university who do not submit the application online when applying for the degree examination will not be allowed to submit a delayed publication application later.

IX. Graduate students taking degree examinations starting from the 2020 academic year should complete a dissertation originality comparison before the examination for the degree examination committee's reference. Departments/institutes with their own ratio regulations should follow those regulations. See the university library/dissertation originality comparison/"Turnitin Dissertation Originality Comparison System" for details.

10. Departmental staff's system access is valid until May 20th, 2026. Departments should complete the receipt of applications by May 20th and submit eligible applications to the College and the Academic Affairs Office for further approval.

11. Due to the typhoon-related school closures for degree examinations this semester, graduate students should apply using the "Temporary Application Form" in the "Master's and Doctoral Thesis Section."

12. Students who pass the degree examinations and graduate this semester should submit one bound copy of their final thesis (revised manuscript) approved by the library to both the Library and the Teaching Affairs Section of the Academic Affairs Office by August 31st, 2026 (as designated by the Ministry of Education's Degree Conferral Act). Students who pass the degree examinations but do not graduate this semester will still have their passing grades counted. For those whose study period has not yet expired, please upload and submit a hard copy of the thesis with the date on the cover showing the actual graduation semester.
