Explanation on the Renaming of the Military Training Courses for All-Out Defense Education
To comply with the Ministry of Education’s policies and curriculum adjustments, starting from the second semester of the 114th academic year, the courses previously titled “Military Training for All-Out Defense Education (I) to (V)” at this university will undergo a change in course titles.
This adjustment is a renaming of existing courses, not the introduction of new ones. Students are advised to pay close attention to avoid enrolling in duplicate courses, which may affect their academic planning and military service credit eligibility.
1. Course Title Changes
The original courses “Military Training for All-Out Defense Education (I) to (V)” are renamed as follows:
| Original Course | New Course Title |
|---|---|
| (I)Military Training for All-Out Defense Education | (I)International Affairs |
| (II)Military Training for All-Out Defense Education | (II)National Defense Policy |
| (III)Military Training for All-Out Defense Education | (III)All-Out Defense |
| (IV)Military Training for All-Out Defense Education | (IV)Defense Mobilization |
| (V)Military Training for All-Out Defense Education | (V)Defense Technology |
Although the course titles have been changed, the course content remains substantively equivalent to the original courses.
2. Important Notes
-
This adjustment involves only a change in course titles, not the creation of new courses.
-
Students who have already completed the original Military Training for All-Out Defense Education courses should not enroll in the renamed courses with the same content, in order to avoid taking duplicate courses.
-
If you have any questions regarding course equivalency or credit recognition, please consult the General Education Center or the Military Training Office for confirmation.
3. Why Is the Renaming Necessary?
To better support student transfers, cross-institutional course selection, and academic record reviews, the course titles have been revised to more accurately reflect the actual course content. This helps to ensure:
-
Proper review of completed coursework
-
Accurate recognition for military service credit
-
Prevention of duplicate course enrollment
