Lecture on Simple Forms: Design for a Better Life
On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the "Red Dot Design Award: Contemporary Taiwanese Design" will debut in Hall 04 of the Taiwan Design Museum. This exhibition, grounded in the Red Dot Design Award's core mission of "In search of good design and creativity," features a curated selection of award-winning Taiwanese works from across a diverse range of fields, including computer components, home appliances, industrial processes, and digital technology, showcasing how Taiwan is responding to global market and cultural demands through design. Coinciding with the exhibition, Peter Zec, Founder and Chairman of the Red Dot Design Award, will deliver an opening keynote address at the Creative Theater!

In an era of rapid technological advancement and continuous technical innovation, how designers can create products that combine beauty, intuitive operation, and a high quality of life, while facing the challenge of increasingly complex product functions, remains a crucial challenge for contemporary designers.
At 3:00 PM on the first day of the exhibition, Peter Zec, Founder and CEO of the Red Dot Design Award, delivered the opening keynote address at the Creative Theater. Entitled "The Form of Simplicity – Design for a Better Life," he drew on his international perspective and professional experience to explore how "simplicity" as a design principle responds to user needs, shapes product form, and becomes a key force in improving the quality of human life and achieving a better life.
