The 30th Taichung Dadun Art Exhibition
1. Purpose: To improve the level of artistic creation and promote international cultural exchanges.
2. Handling Unit:
1. Guiding Unit: Taichung City Government
2. Organizers: Taichung City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau, Taichung City 30th Dadun Art Exhibition Preparatory Committee
Participation Qualifications:
1. Domestic and foreign individuals engaged in artistic creation.
2. There is no limit on the entry categories, but only one entry is allowed in each category, and the same work may not be submitted repeatedly across categories.
3. The entries must not contain any plagiarism, copying, proxy inscription, impersonation, infringement of the copyright rights of others, or other violations of the Copyright Law and related laws. If any of the above circumstances occurs, in addition to bearing the legal responsibility, the organizer may cancel the qualification of the applicant after approval by the judging committee, and the applicant shall not be allowed to participate in the competition for 3 years starting from the next competition, and the prize money, trophies, medals and certificates already awarded shall be withdrawn.
4. The entries must be works created by the individual after 2012 (inclusive). Works that have won awards or been selected in public competitions (excluding schools) (including partial works in a series) are not allowed to participate.
5. Artistic creations that require multiple editions (such as prints, photography, sculptures, digital art, etc.) will not be considered different works due to modification or partial adjustments and may not be submitted for the competition repeatedly.
6. If the entries apply AI technology, the creative concept and the use of AI technology must be detailed in the work description.
IV. Categories of submissions: 11 categories including ink painting, calligraphy, seal cutting, gouache, oil painting, watercolor, printmaking, photography, sculpture, crafts, and digital art.
5. Participation method (divided into two stages: preliminary review and final review). Works that do not comply with the provisions of this guide will not be reviewed.
1. Preliminary review: Choose between online registration and paper registration
(I) Online registration: Participants should complete the registration on the official website of Dadun Art Exhibition (https://www.dadunfae.taichung.gov.tw/) from April 1 to April 15, 2015. Incomplete entries will not be accepted. For seal carving, please complete the online registration and send the seal rubbing by registered mail before April 15.
(ii) Paper Registration:
1. Please fill in your personal information (including affidavit, personal information statement) and work information in detail on the submission form, and provide photos of your entries on a CD or USB drive. Each file should be 2-5MB and in JPEG format. Please indicate your name and title in the file name. Incomplete or incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
2. Prepare the submission form and a CD or USB with photos of your work and other materials, and send them by registered mail to "8F, Huizhong Building, No. 99, Section 3, Taiwan Boulevard, Xitun District, Taichung City 407610 / Visual Arts Department, Cultural Affairs Bureau, Taichung City Government" and indicate "Participating in the preliminary review of the 30th Dadun Art Exhibition in Taichung City, Category ○○" on the envelope.
(III) For details on the specifications and quantity of the photos (pictures) for the entries, please refer to the various preliminary review entries in "VI. Work Specifications".
(IV) All materials and prints will not be returned after review. Please make a copy for your own record before submitting.
2. Review: The original works should be submitted to "No. 600, Yingcai Road, West District, Taichung City 403524 / Dadun Cultural Center, Taichung City".
(I) Applicants who pass the preliminary review will be announced on the Dadun Art Exhibition website and will be notified by the organizer to submit the original works for the re-examination. Failure to do so will be deemed as giving up the opportunity.
(ii) All original works must be framed. If the submitted works are sent by mail or transportation, please pack them safely by yourself. The author is responsible for any losses incurred during transportation. For detailed specifications of the works, please refer to the review submission specifications in "VI. Work Specifications".
(III) The original entries will be signed for by the organizer and will be collected with the receipt when returning the entries. The list of winners will be announced on the Dadun Art Exhibition website and the organizer will send a letter to notify the winners.
(IV) Optical discs or USB flash drives will not be returned.
3. Da Dun Award: The first place winner in each category will receive 3 reference works (specifications refer to point 6). Five Da Dun Award winners will be selected by the conveners of each category’s judging committee and announced at the award ceremony. The author of the Da Dun Award-winning work must attach a letter of guarantee for the originality of the work and a letter of authorization for the use of the work, which will be preserved by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Taichung City Government. The ownership of the work belongs to the organizer.
