Sustainability Report of College of Design

According to the Medium-Term Plan for School Development (2021-2025) and the vision of sustainable development in line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of United Nations by 2030, we coordinate and implement academic research, university-industry cooperation, education and sustainable goals for the sustainable development of economy, society and environment in and out of Taiwan.

II. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Our sustainable development goals pursue the sustainability of economy, society and environment with the concept of university education and social responsibility.

Sustainable Key Goals of Academia and Industry-University Cooperation Include: Good Health And Well-Being; Quality Education; Clean Water And Sanitation; Affordable And Clean Energy; Decent Work And Economic Growth; Industry, Innovation And Infrastructure; Sustainable Cities And Communities; Responsible Consumption And Production; Climate Action; Life Under Water; Life On Land; Partnerships For The Goals; and Sustainability And Social Practice. 12 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as 1 Sustainability and Social Practice Indicator are listed in total.

Moreover, following the “Five-ization Strategy” of YunTech (namely as Characterization, Academization, Industry-University Cooperation, Internationalization and Intellectualization), we fulfill the university social responsibility (USR) and the spirit of sustainability in acquiring an internationally-recognized university featured by innovative education and industrial integration in line with international standards.

I. Short-term Target: Achieve the annual performance target of school affairs.

II. Medium-term Target: Gradually realize the vision of sustainability based on YunTech’s Five-ization Strategy through the academization, industry-university cooperation, internationalization, intellectualization and characterization.

Academicization:

(1) From the perspectives of community, reward, cross-domain, upgrading and resources: push communities ----strengthen academic communities (the older lead the younger), encourage theme-based research communities and integrate different potential teachers to cooperate.

(2)Reward—offer varied awards in different fields, improve the quality of school journals (academic journal), increase the reward amount for paper submission in and out of China, and formulate different rewarding systems for phasic study.

(3)Cross-domain—establish cross-domain and integrative research communities for co-planning, build more channels for quotation in interdisciplinary connections and exchanges, and establish professional research consulting platforms.

(4) Upgrading—upgrade (transform) existing journals or papers into technical journal reports, revise foreign manuscripts with the help of international teachers and improve hit ratio of paper submission to foreign journals.

(5) Resource Allocation—the resource adjustment shall be carried out wisely.

Industry-University Cooperation: Lead the heated discussion with graduate students to increase the number of papers and the ratio of industry-university cooperation, and offer theme-based and master-apprentice professional planning as well as vocational training as a result of breaking down course structure.

Internationalization: Increase our popularity and call for more sister universities to promote international communications, establish special international classes, and expose our university more by joining in international competitions.

Intellectualization: Help administrative tasks by AI as well as make courses and paper cooperation electronically.

III. Long-term Target: In accordance with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of United Nations and the “Five-aspects Strategy”, a college-focused university will be created. Conforming to all-round demands in academic research, university-industry cooperation, sustainable courses and education of society, environment and students, we will continue our efforts in global sustainable development.
